This never gets old...

There is such satisfaction in tagging and releasing Monarchs that you have raised! It is so beautiful to watch them fly away - I truly savor this! Sure, it is time consuming and a lot of work, but watching them take off makes it so worth it. Did I mention that Monarchs are an "at risk" species? To think that I am helping makes it all the sweeter.

Today, I will go over the # 50 mark, with 62 adults reared, tagged and released as of this afternoon. My goal this season is still 500, but if my luck and my will hold out, I should be well over my goal. I have stopped counting eggs and larvae at this point - there are hundreds! Ever time I go out my front door, I find more...sheesh! This is what happens when you garden for butterflies, especially Monarchs.

I know that Pam would like to update her blog daily.. but she can't because she is a little busy... between working, and being a Mom, and managing the household, and taking care of hundreds of monarchs she does not have a free minute...Steve
